The Configuration Dialog

Chapter 4. The Configuration Dialog

In order to effectively use KreateCD, you need to configure your CD-Recorder so KreateCD can use it. Furthermore, there are other options that alter the behaviour of KreateCD.

The dialog is a standard dialog. If you click on OK, the dialog will close and the changes you've made in the dialog will be saved. If you click on the Apply button, all changes you've made in the dialog are saved, however, the dialog will not close. If you click on the Cancel button, the changes you've made won't be saved and the dialog will close.

When you first start KreateCD, you should configure your CD burner in the SCSI Settings panel.

Path Settings

Path Settings

In the Path Settings section you can select paths to programs KreateCD uses. Thes programs include: cdrecord, cdparanoia, mkisofs, cdda2wav, mpg123, readcd and your temporary directory.

Most options in this dialog will point to the right location, as the programs are found at the build process of KreateCD. If this is true, the options will be inactive (grey) so you can't change it. One of the reasons is that kreatecd is a program that has root privileges, so any messing up with the settings could cause a security leak.

To change a path, simply type in the desired path, or press the ... button to open a browse dialog where you can select a path.
